How it works

Buy once. Activate once.

Your license key arrives by email. GAGE needs the internet one time, to activate; after that it works fully offline.

Choose Core or Pro. Your license key, which looks like GAGE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, is emailed to you.

In GAGE, click the GAGE logo, choose License…, type your key and press Activate.

Can I try it first?

Yes. Every GAGE download will include a free 7-day trial with nearly everything switched on (here’s exactly what’s held back). Until launch the beta is closed, but we’re taking applications for the testing team. Apply here.

How many computers can I use it on?

Two per license. To move to a new computer, remove the license from the old one (GAGE logo, License…, Remove License) and activate on the new one. More.

Do I need to be online?

Only once, to activate. After that GAGE works offline, and only checks in briefly about every two weeks when it happens to be online. A computer that never goes online can use a license file instead. What GAGE sends.

What’s the refund policy?

If you’re not happy after installing and trying it, email support@gagesampler.com within 14 days of buying for a full refund.

What about GAGE Player?

GAGE Player for iPhone is free, and its public beta is open now. It plays 20 built-in templates, and templates exported from GAGE Sampler (Core or Pro) can be added. Join the public beta.

Can I record what GAGE plays?

Core records in your DAW. Pro adds recording right inside GAGE.

Which systems are supported?

macOS on Apple silicon (Standalone, AU, VST3) and Windows (Standalone, VST3).

Is it AI?

No. GAGE is a rule-based system built around real music theory (scales, harmony, rhythm), not a machine-learning model. No black box, no training data, just musical rules you can see and set yourself.
